HAITI : Digital School Project


UNIVERSITY OF NICE AT SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS  RESPONDS TO THE HAITI EARTHQUAKE
JULY 12, 2010


Thanks to funds provided by the FSDIE (Social Solidarity fund for student initiatives) grant from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and an evening in which € 2,000 was raised by the TOUTIAE NICE association and the IAE Gala organizational committee; a total of € 22,000 was collected for the integration of "a prefabricated building powered by renewable energy (solar and wind) at the University of Haiti's Faculty of Science.
 The project serves as a form of humanitarian aid and a model for the "digital school project" in Port-au-Prince. The Masters in Databases and Systems Integration (MBDS) is a joint program between the State University of Haiti and the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis.
Special thanks are merited by Serge Miranda, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and founder of the DreamIT Foundation.
